What are schools going to take issue with next?

"Instead of using common sense, our own school district treated my child like a criminal for arranging empty soda cans in a way they didn’t like," Grunden says. "What happened to his First Amendment rights?"

as well as the 2nd, and the 4th....

government facilities that violate our rights juxtaposed to private industry (who usually do the dirty work for them anyways) is a constitutional no-no

This brings an interesting question. What would have happened if he had gone to a LEGAL rifle range with his folks and posted a video of him shooting a real AR? There is bound to be a lawsuit over this and the moron/s that made the decision to suspend should lose their job.

If he didn't get a reaction to the pop cans depiction of an AR-15, it's very likely that he would have escalated his feelings for promoting violence.

This is the main reason why his harmless demonstration of frustration needed to be stopped immediately. If he was ignored, then what would he turn to next?

The worst thing the parents could do is bring a lawsuit against the school. The demeanour of their son will depend on whether or not he gets support for his prank. He needs to understand soon that his attitude problem can't be tolerated and be allowed to keep festering in his mind.

Decent parents should understand the risk of supporting this kind of behaviour. Do they want to take the risk of encouraging a good boy (so far) turning into another school shooter?

For your and other's consideration my friend.

I made guns out of all kinds of things when I was a kid. People ascribing malicious intent to a child without any proof is wrong.

Reactions:Concerned American

In addition to the effect of encouragement his parents have on his future, there will be an effect on other young boys who are feeling frustration over the slowed down progress of violence against the lib'ruls/Demofks/ law and order/ etc.

If it was up to me, I would hope for nationwide exposure of the fight at the level of the Scotus.

Win or lose, it's a fight that Americans need to have decided!

Yawn, debated and settled law, duck. Your ignorance of the US constitution is unbelievable. We don't have thought police in the US. Canada? Apparently you do.

You didn't do it at school and in the current atmosphere of school boards having nightmares of the next school shooting being at their school.

America has changed while you were growing up and not paying attention!

IF you find the next school shooting is up close and personal, should you have paid attention?

Whatever Canada doesn't have that America has, you can include regular school shootings.

Are you really saying that every kid who is playing is a threat? Is that what you really are saying?

Most new threads are just spamming and attempts to troll political opponents.

But threads such as this one have hidden value that's worth promoting!

Go here for news about the latest school lawsuit. All that I can say is may the boy and his mom clean house! :) :) :)

God bless you and the boy and his entourage always!!!

Holly

P.S. My only complaint about what the boy did is that he used Dr. Pepper cans instead of Cherry Coke cans. :D :D :D
Given there is a major school shooting about once a week, legally I bet he has a case, but man the kid is a moron.

I'm really only saying that to ignore this boy's attempt to gain attention with suggestions of violence, needs to be publicly recognized.

If it's just ignored then he will almost certainly up the ante in some way until he gets the attention he craves.

This won't escalate into a school shooting but it would be allowed to escalate in the direction of violence.

Perhaps only escalated into a fist fight against another student he feels is his political enemy.

And then what reaction from his chosen victim? Get his father's gun and even the score?

I can't be of any furthere help. America has to make its own choices!

The kid is lucky isn't in jail. There nothing funny even rifle made out soda cans. One thing I learned from 'Nam, firearms need to be respected. He thought it was joke, he fucked up and pays the price.
On the positive, no Dr. Peppers were harmed in the making of that pic. :scared1:

Same. Plus we routinely wandered around with .410s and .22s.

BUT we didn't have mass shootings every week either.
Thank you for admitting that it isn't the gun. Maybe you should take a closer look at how society has evolved instead of clutching your pearls because someone arranged soda cans in a certain shape.

I have come to the dispiriting conclusion that the profession I have loved for so many years is one of the stupidest to ever exist.

Teachers get beat on daily: fine.

Some kid builds a rifle out of pop cans not even on school property? Suspended.

We will endure ACTUAL violence, but not the "threat" of it.
I don't see where a teacher was involved.

Why? I didn't raise idiot kids who would post things like a moron that might get them suspended.
