What are schools going to take issue with next?

I agree, there was no connection to the school at all. WTF is the school even opening their mouths for? Big Brother?
perhaps their zero tolerance policy CA

i'll use myself as example....... back when my kids were in school i get a call from the vice principal who said my son was involved in a 'projectile incident'
so i beat feet down to the school to learn he had made a snowball, and was trying to hit the flagpole with it

said vice also informed me the school gym teacher 'took him down' before he could make another snowball......

it took a lot to keep a straight face .......

There were a couple cases in CA when I lived there that involved school kids displaying American flags either on their clothing or flying from their bicycle. In both cases the kids were sent home to placate hispanics who were flying Mexican flags. School administrators were slapped down, as they should have been, in both cases.

Tracks.

Meanwhile, if a student has an IEP or 504, they can hit, bite, claw, throw things etc...and it's all fine. Our job is to stand and take it.

Bbbbut, bbbbut, bbbbut, that's diiiiifferent. That kid is autistic and can't help himself.
So what--he doesn't belong in the general public school system.

The worst thing the parents could do is bring a lawsuit against the school. The demeanour of their son will depend on whether or not he gets support for his prank. He needs to understand soon that his attitude problem can't be tolerated and be allowed to keep festering in his mind.
What if what was done was not done as a prank? What I want to know is if anyone has ever once bothered to ask the boy about why he did what he did? Instead of automatically labeling him a bad guy, why not take an interest and respectfully ask him to explain why he did what he did. His answer could be something that no one has ever once considered.

God bless you and the boy always!!!

For crying out loud -- WHY? The kid arranged soda cans in a shape that resembled a gun in some Karen's mind. He owes no explanation. He didn't do anything wrong.

detention hall comes to mind

do they still have that?

Nope. Teachers are not allowed to keep students after school or deny them recesses in CA. It is ridiculous. These feral kids know it too. LOL, I remember my years in school when corporal punishment was the norm. I am well acquainted with the "board of education" My parents made it very clear to me that I had best not come home whining about getting swats in school because I undoubtedly did something to deserve it and if I got swats at school and they found out, I would get worse at home. I find it surprising that I have not been scarred for life because of those policies.

I agree, but that is why I say what I said in my previous message here. Nothing wrong was done, but a person can still ask about why the boy did what was done. Asking questions is how things are learned.

Same here CA , admittedly i was a tad 'uppity' as a kid, and was reprimanded often , and there was no whining about it at home being one of 3 brothers to a WW2 combat vet, who was all for it......

That said, as 'old school' participants you've got to admit it was all rather effective , they shut us down and put us in our place & didn't take no lip back

These days the RX is to dope the sh*t out of 'uppity' kids , which creates more problems than it solves IMHO

I often wonder which works best......

I think that the parents would most likely prevent a police or social services pshch from talking to the boy. The system in America is too combative already to have any cooperation on finding answers before it's too late.

The odds are not big of him becoming a school shooter. Let's say that they are only 1 or 2%, but then multiply that times hundreds or thousands of boys like him and then you have the lielyhood that plainly exists.

Frankly, just having the discussion in public raises the danger of another boy with a chip on his shoulder, acting out with a gun.

If the social help was just quietly accepted for the boy, maybe the prevailing attitudes wouldn't be enhanced the way it's being handled on this forum. No social help will ever be permitted to reach this boy.

Maybe it's not so much just him, but thousands like him?

Does any of that hint at how easy it could be to handle thousands of similar problems that are brewing and getting close to boiling over Holly?

I only know that looking at him as if he is already a monster could be just the thing to push him all the way over the line.

God bless you and the boy always!!!

P.S. To me, the boy should simply say to those who take issue with his creation, "Urinating in my yard will not make your grass any greener, especially if there isn't any grass on your ground in the first place."

That's already a possibility that should be considered, but it's contemplating the worst for the boy.
If he's that close to turning violent then 'your god' bless the little children that live anywhere near him.

I don't think he's already a violent bad boy, but simply providing him with mental help shouldn't be ignored.

If you think that he has turned violent already, what makes you think that little children will be his only target? Also, saying that providing him with mental help should not be ignored is like you are saying that everyone who does what he is guilty of should be getting mental help which leads me to this question. If the boy and his ilk need mental help, what are we to do with those who have a real weapon in their possession? Do keep in mind that law enforcements officers automatically have a weapon. Does this mean that they should be getting mental help?

God bless you and them and the boy always!!!
