So not silent. Pleading the 5th. And that isn't the wording the courts use, you made up that lie and tried to sneak it by, thinking it somehow absolves you of your false statements.You probably have not been to court, which is a good thing.
I have been to federal court many times and witnessed tens of hearings as a Grand Juror. All witnesses are told they have the right to remain silent by taking the 5th, told by every single US Attorney, without fail.
People under trial do not even have to take the stand in their own defense normally. You should know this.
