What exactly is "compromise"?

Compromise is...compromise is something like bending over and saying "GIVE IT TO ME RIGHT HERE!" Not only are you screwed, but now you're fucked.

This is why republicans keep losing, because of attitudes like this.

Put down the neocon dictionary and pick up a real dictionary. Compromise means all sides involved get some of what they wanted in an attempt to please everyone.

that only works when the differences are on small insignificant items. our differences today are huge and major. the dems want european socialism and the GOP wants us to follow the vision of the founders. I don't know how those two ideas ever reach compromise.

yes, it did. and if you remember Bush tried very hard to work some compromises with Ted Kennedy------but the dems refused.

Now we have obama who also refuses to even look for areas of compromise. and before you start spouting like a wounded whale, the obamacare bill, done by dems only in a locked room, no floor debate allowed, no GOP amendments allowed, passed in the middle of the night before anyone could read it--------compromise? I think not.

ACA, Obamacare is loaded with compromises. It began with the dropping universal healthcare followed by the dropping of the public option. Penalties for violation of the individual mandate were made so low as to almost make them useless, elimination of cost controls, insurance coverage for abortion services, and abortion funding, cuts in Medicare funding, and many more. The ACA is full of compromises.

All major legislation is a product of compromise.
