What sentence should Bergdahl receive?

Why should he get to walk around free as a bird while the families that have lost a loved one because this asshole decided he wanted to join his Taliban brothers?
He can walk around but he'll never be free. This episode will haunt him for the rest of his life. Seems like a just punishment. It's not like he'll ever be a repeat offender.

That's the same claim as someone who goes to prison for viewing child pornography. The episode haunts them for life, just Bergdahl walking away from being a traitor is not just punishment by any stretch of the imagination.
The average sentence for viewing child pornography is less than 5 years, about what he served with the Taliban. The average sentence for murder is less than 6 years.

That is NOT true. Where did you get these figures?

He walked off deserting his fellow soldiers and up to six rescures lost their lives looking for him and the terrorists-for- Bergdahl swap made it more outrageous. Death to the traitor.

Also note the military change in statements:

Taliban sources allege he was ambushed after becoming drunk off base; U.S. military sources deny that claim, stating, "The Taliban are known for lying and what they are claiming [is] not true".[6] A Department of Defense spokesperson said, "I'm glad to see he appears unharmed, but again, this is a Taliban propaganda video. They are exploiting the soldier in violation of international law."[4][5] Other sources said Bergdahl walked off base after his shift[29] or that he was grabbed from a latrine.[30][31] In 2009, the U.S. Department of Defense attributed his disappearance to "walking off his base in eastern Afghanistan with three Afghan counterparts and was believed to have been taken prisoner".[32]

Hang/Draw/Quarter. There is no amount of suffering a traitor doesn't deserve so I think the most brutal practice in England's history is a BEAUTIFUL thing.

He was charged with 'misbehavior with the enemy' and the military asked for 14 years. The desertion charge carried 5 years, MBWE up to life.

Where are the reports of soldiers losing their lives looking for him, outside of Breitbart, etc. The military entered only evidence of injuries, which is bad enough:

The military court heard testimony from three current and former service members who were wounded while searching for Bergdahl. Prosecutors argued that he deserved a significant prison sentence because those service members were injured as a result of his actions; the defense said that he did not intend for anyone to get hurt and that it was the Taliban that actually injured them.

Dishonorable Discharge, reduction to E-1, forfeiture of $6k - sucks. What the hell was the judge thinking?

And his lawyers are appealing the DD. I wanna puke.
