A Republicans Congresscritter today said something like, "We won't be disrespected! We're going to get something for this. I don't even know what it is."

So what will they get?

Will Republicans get Obama to give up on Obamacare?

Will Republicans get cuts in the some of the things they want?

I want to know what they'll get? What are they aiming for?

Please discuss and tell me what you think Republicans will get out of this.

In all honesty I think ol Bohner is playing the Tea Party. He can't control them so he is going along with their dumb ideas on shutting down the government. He knows that the debt ceiling is much more dangerous to the economy. Let the rubes have their day, expose their lunacy, public turns on them, and he gets control back to broker a deal with moderates on the debt ceiling.

Would'nt shock me if that so called meeting last night with the president was a strategy session on how to hamstring the tea party where everyone but the tea party comes out smelling like roses.

All the repubs are asking for now is a delay of the individual mandate and an end to subsidies for congressmen. Is that too much for the king to abide?

They won't stop. They hate this government. They hate black people. They hate minorities. They hate not being in charge. They hate being wrong all the time.

See the pattern? Lots of "hate".

Republicans don't build anything. They don't grow the economy. Their economic policies are "tax scams". They are feared and hated all over the world and know it.

The question is, "How much damage will they cause this time"?

So, Republicans put a gun to this country's head and we're expected to negotiate with them?

Silly Republicans, we don't negotiate with terrorists.

That's exactly it.

They hate that moderate Republicans, centrists, Liberals, everyone except for their far-right fringe can't stand them!

They hate that they have no say, but when they do stop everything on a dime like they're doing now to capture the spotlight, what do they do with it? They use it like Congressman Neugebauer did when he yelled at the Park Ranger for shutting down the WWII memorial!

They get their stupid shutdown after 3 years of threatening it and then wake up the next morning and complain that the part they want open is closed!

They could make their demands now, but they either don't have any concrete ones, or the ones they do have are so friggin' unpopular that they know they can't ever get it enacted.

It's like what they really wish they could do is hold a gun to America's head and force her to erase the last 80 years.

Never gonna happen. Tea Party gets nothing out of this except fewer seats in the election a year from now.

They've done no such thing.

The Democrats are the ones holding the switch to the C4 they have strapped around the American economy.

Write to the Senate and tell them to compromise like adults.

Maybe they can gerrymander the tea party out of existence?

The Tea Party does not run the government.

End of discussion.

True. But somehow the Tea partyiers run the Speaker of the House. John is the guy that needs to stand up and say enough is enough. That he has gone along with this delusion of getting rid of Obamacare for long enough.

But he won't. He don't have the balls.

But he will bring a clean CR to the floor for a vote. I think.

You think main stream Repubs are happy with their gerrymandering of districts now?? LMAO.

Have you looked at the figures, Obama's not growing the economy, just the ND. And your right about GOPer's, too.

Yes, it is to much to abide. Months ago the Democrats tried to get the republicans to work with them and to help form a committee so it would not come to this. Eighteen times they approached the republicans with this request and eighteen times they were ignored. NOW they want to talk. Obama warned them well in advance he would not negoiate. They were warned!!
Oh, and by the way, when the Democrats released their first budget it was very large. Over the months they have kept cutting the budget and reducing how much money will be in the budget. Currently the amount they are asking for is almost the same amount put forward in the Ryan budget. Republicans wanted the Ryan budget, they got the Ryan budget, and NOW THAT IS NOT ENOUGH. As far as I am concerned the republicans can go screw themselves!

I am telling you, Jim Demint is sitting in the background with a big bag money. I have read that Heritage is pulling the strings. This is a test of will.....

When will the moderates finally push the retarded Tea Baggers aside.

True, the tea party does not run the government but they do run the House of Representatives. And since it take approval of both houses of the Congress to pass a bill the tea party can stop the government from passing any bills.

The Senate has passed a bill that will fund the government. It is a clean bill and has no other riders on it. The bill has been sent to the House where boehner is refusing to bring the Senate's bill to a vote. The reason boehner does not bring the Senate bill to a vote is because the tea party members in the House want a rider on the bill to defund or postpone ACA.

What the dimbulb-op doesn't realize is that most of the government is still in operation:

In fact, this shutdown is such a non-event that even referring to it as a "partial government shutdown" would really be overstating what is actually happening. The following are 36 facts which prove that almost everything is still running during this government shutdown...

#1 According to U.S. Senator Rand Paul, 85 percent of all government activities are actually being funded during this "government shutdown".

#2 Approximately 1,350,000 "essential" federal employees will continue to work during this "government shutdown".

#3 Overall, 63 percent of the federal workforce will continue to work during this "government shutdown".

#4 The U.S. Postal Service will continue to deliver our mail.

#5 U.S. military personnel will remain on duty and will continue to get paid.

#6 Social Security recipients will continue to get their benefits.

#7 Medicare recipients will continue to get their benefits.

#8 Medicaid recipients will continue to get their benefits.

#9 Food stamp recipients will continue to get their benefits.

#10 Those on unemployment will continue to get their benefits.

#11 Federal retirees will continue to get their pensions.

#12 The federal school lunch program has enough money to go through at least the end of this month.

#13 Public schools all over the country will continue to stay open.

#14 Almost all federal law enforcement officials will continue working.

#15 The Federal Reserve will remain "completely functional".

#16 The Supreme Court will continue to operate normally and federal courts have enough money to keep going for at least two weeks.

#17 TSA employees will continue to molest travelers at our airports.

#18 Air traffic controllers will continue to monitor traffic at our airports.

#19 Hopelessly outmanned border patrol agents will continue to try to stem the tide of illegal immigration.

#20 Visas and passports will continue to be issued by the State Department.

#21 The Veterans Administration will continue to offer substandard medical services, and it will be able to continue processing benefit payments at least for now.

#22 The Obama administration apparently has plenty of money to spend on closing open-air memorials that are usually open to the public 24 hours a day.

#23 The Department of Defense announced the awarding of 94 new contracts worth a combined total of more than 5 billion dollars on September 30th - the day right before the "government shutdown".

#24 The "government shutdown" has not prevented the new two billion dollar NSA spy center from opening up.

#25 Federal prisons will continue to operate normally.

#26 Amtrak trains will continue to run.

#27 The Patent and Trademark Office will be open.

#28 The Consumer Product Safety Commission will continue to issue product recalls if the products "create an immediate threat to the safety of human life".

#29 The National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center will continue to track weather patterns.

#30 If the federal government needs to respond to a natural disaster, this "shutdown" will not affect that.

#31 NASA will continue to support the Mars Rover and the two American astronauts up on the International Space Station.

#32 All city employees of the D.C. government have been deemed "essential" and will continue to go to work.

#33 Even though the Obamacare exchanges are not working properly, people will still be able to access them.

#34 The IRS will continue to collect taxes, but it will be suspending punitive audits of conservative organizations.

#35 Barack Obama will continue to get paid for the full duration of this "shutdown".

#36 The U.S. Congress will continue to get paid for the full duration of this "shutdown".

Endless spending for "Iraq democracy", but penny pinching for health care for the poor and sick.

No wonder Mittypoo lost.
