You're right. Teachers and coaches have been having sex with students for a long time. Anyone remember Mary Kay Letourneau (sp?)? She had sex with a student, and later married him and had a family with him. And this was back in 1997.

Throw adults who are socially awkward around other adults, as many teachers are, in a situation in which the are in charge of kids who are just becoming aware of their sexual desires and the effect their nubility has males, and you're going to cases in which adults take advantage.

It's being found out, and proven, now, due to social media. Kids don't have to convince the principal that nice Mr. Jones said something sexual to them, they can show her the text. Inappropriate touchers will be caught on camera, if the touchee complains. Kids will publicly discuss which teachers are perverts.

Maybe female teachers. Some are inherently predators to begin with, to be sure. Some just seem to get carried away and go beyond the limits of self-discipline and outside the law, once tasting the forbidden fruit (so to speak) they repeat, and (I think) get off on the danger and the sex. Some, (strangely enough) are good-looking women, that would have no problem dating somebody their own age, not related to on the job student opportunities. I can't help but think, at the same time, high school boys are inherently a horny demographic and easily hot for the teacher (like the song) and more than will participants. These women often get lighter sentences or simply probation, loss of job, and being put on the list) making me wonder if male judges have a problem with harsh sentencing of good-looking female teachers for sex with underage male students, where male teacher, bopping young cheerleaders (somebody's innocent little daughter) rightfully get the book thrown at them, though the teenage girl involved may be actually be a little tease whore to begin with.
