An authority figure in a private religious institution is fired because she got pregnant and is unmarried. People are fired and laid off all the time for various reasons. It is no wonder that children today do not respect teachers, insitutions, government, or adult authority. The loss of freedom in this country to make decisions based on one's religious convictions are being trampled by people who seemingly do not understand the Constitution, God, or personal responsibility. Fine, this lady wants an baby. If she doesn't wish to get married and have one, she should have gotten a job as a teacher at some public school where they don't care anymore. Though I am not Catholic, I suggest that the Roman Catholic Church might consider excommunicating her. See if the courts will try to get her good standing within the "church" back for her... Of course I am being facetious. However, I can now see a time when even shunning will become a Federal case. HERE IS A PERFECT REASON WHY A CATHOLIC INSTITUTION SHOULD NOT HIRE NON-CATHOLICS.
Please see: Jury sides with teacher fired by Catholic school after artificial insemination - U.S. News

The attorney representing the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati had argued that Dias was dismissed because artificial insemination breaches church doctrine as well as a contract mandating that school employees follow Catholic social principles, according to NBC station WLWT in Cincinnati.

Dias, who is not Catholic, had filed a lawsuit against the archdiocese and two of the organization’s schools. Per the jury’s ruling, the schools will not be liable for damages, according to the AP.

So a non-Catholic signs a contract which states that they must live up to Catholic doctrine and when they break that contract and get fired, the Courts award her the money?

What good are contracts?

O spare me your sanctimonious BS. The catholic church had dozens of priest fondling little boys and did they get fired? This hypocritical horseshit about Catholic doctrines is the reason there are, like me, so many non practicing Catholics in the US.

Socialist??

The catholic church isn't socialist. They're anti-human, pro-pedophile and exist because ignorant people believe silly superstitions.

And that has exactly what to do with the fact that this woman broke a contract that she signed and when she was fired for violating it, she gets a court to reward her for it?

Contract law is contract law. It doesn't matter who is involved most times.

Yes, and the law finally caught up with them. Not because they were Catholics or priests but because they engaged in homosexual antics with boys.... I'm a Fundamentalist Christian not because of what some priests did, but because of what the Bible says.

Matthew 9:42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea."
