First.....this is politics, not religion, because the answer to the query applies to the former.
The backstory:
"Former Vice President Joe Biden attended services at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in the city of Florence on Sunday and was reportedly denied communion by the priest. Father Robert Morey cited Biden’s support for legal abortion as the reason for the denial."
Biden reportedly denied communion in South Carolina
Biden went to the church, whose position on abortion is well known.
In the interests of his position as priest, and subscribing to his conscience, Father Robert Morey had no choice but to deny the rite.
BUT....the issue does bring a chuckle when one must bet that Biden favored shutting down bakers who choose not to bake a cake that would be an item in a gay marriage/occasion, or penalizing that florist who wouldn't provide the floral arrangement for a similar celebration...and there was a photographer in the same situation.
As a card-carrying Progressive, wouldn't you want that priest arrested, or his church shut down, due to his objections to Liberal orthodoxy?
Bear in mind that Democrat Lyndon Johnson passed a law denying churches tax deductions if they said...SAID...anything the Democrats disapproved of.
To be consistent, shouldn't you Liberals do what you always wanted to, remove any and all rights that don't follow your dictates????
Is this a question of rites or rights (see what I did there?)
