Lefties have been arguing for years that the acronym "Nazi" didn't really contain the word "socialist". Are they going to tell us that the former USSR wasn't really a socialist republic? The problem with today's lefties is that they are ignorant in the truest meaning of the word and their ignorance leads them to believe they can do socialism better than history indicates. Noting remotely socialist or communist about the USSR.
With socialism or communism, the decision making and profit sharing has to be done democratically and equally.
The USSR was a dictatorship of the wealthy elite, just like any capitalist monarchy.

There are people who have done socialism, but they are very successful at it, like Scandanavian countries, primitive tribes, etc.

He's willing to work for less, so he drives wages down. He has no skills, so he produces less. His wife and children require government services, therefore raising out taxes.

Immigration has always been the cornerstone of US economic strength.
Immigrants do not drive wages down, but raise them up as current workers advance to managers of immigrants.
Immigrants mean more customers for goods, lower prices on good, and an more energized economy in general.
The immigrant may be more skilled, but even if he isn't and is less productive than current workers, his production is still an increase in production that would not otherwise have happened.
No immigrants (or citizens either really) get ANY government services.
They lower taxes by increasing GDP and income taxes withheld.

When the US has had the worst economy has always been when immigration was limited the most.

Roads, police, military, fire departments, courts, and prisons existed long before Marx and Engels wrote "The Communist Manifesto" in 1847. In fact, they existed long before the 1789 French Revolution too, which was the origin of Socialism.

Now where the hell do you think all that money came from in order to build those roads, police, military, fire departments, courts, and prisons? Socialism? Fuck no. Those things were paid for by taxpaying citizens who generated that revue by way of capitalism. Those jobs, businesses, and companies were not created by the government.

Socialism and communism predate human history.
Marx and Engles never claimed to have invented communism, and they said it always existed and was from the nature of mankind.
I have never heard any one ever suggest the French Revolution had anything to do with socialism, as it clearly did not,
Socialism in Europe was more embodied in the small independent German states, and Scandanavia as well.
France was the aristocratic model of the Romans, and Napoleon did not change that in the least.
The closest to anything else was the VERY short lived Jacobians.
