Why are the Ds ignoring the unraveling of their base?

The Ds are going to the mattresses over the border wall but blocking and therefore reducing illegal Immigration is not a threat to their existence as a national party. Are there threats to the survival of the Democratic party? Yes, several.

Skilled workers, small firms and effectively all of their tax base is headed for the state line to be replaced by companies extorting tax breaks from them.

The lack of after tax income growth in D states relative to that of R states has led to a massive labor shortage in most R states v. no or low labor shortage in nearly all D states. D states with a huge draw like HI, CA and NY are doing reasonably well. But R states like FL with Disney World and Daytona; TN with Nashville and Memphis or AL with Huntsville, the Gulf and Lake Martin are pulling a lot of high paying jobs from D states.

Southern states in particular have fewer problems with infrastructure because of a lot less rock salt and other cold weather problems. The great plains have lots of relatively flat land and low population density making them the best place to build high speed rail cheap. So when the next infrastructure bill is passed the Ds will generally get less benefit than the Rs, despite getting roughly the same amount of money per capita

So, why are the Ds ignoring these survival threats?

Quite simply, Democrats are so far up their own assholes (to their small intestine), they believe they're incapable of mistakes. So they don't have the slightest discernment over how badly their murderous, baby-tantrum behavior is damaging their party. They've elevated themselves into their own swaggering little tin gods whose job is to look down and babysit all us simple peasants. Never in this history of this continent have one group of people-like things been so tone-deaf and so snobby/elitist over everyone else around them. You know the saying, "Pride goeth before a fall."

Want proof? Look at their psychotic, foaming hatred of blue-collar white working-class Americans for years under Obamaggot and other similar liberal, gamma-ray-emitting, Greyhound bus wheel-well scrapings. Who think they're the King Turds of Shit Mountain...when in reality these liberal holier-than-thou blowhards are nothing more than microscopic particles of uric acid floating around in the great toilet bowl of life. It's utterly degrading and disgusting how liberal cancer-deservers regard blue-collar white Americans as nothing but lowly, menial animals when liberals are the ultimate moral menials.

A stupid 2000 mile wall is not “border security “.

Dems have tried to agree on immigration and border security, it’s the cons that refuse to compromise.

Why are Rs imagining that Democrats are unraveling? Wishful thinking?

As mentioned by me in another thread the Ds have a deep but narrow donor base. When Soros and other donors say jump the Ds don't ask why just how high they should jump.

This kind of pay for play politics means that there is a larger gap between the D donor base and their voter base than the R donor v. voter base. Their bought and paid for activist cadre is another major problem.

Because the only place these "threats" exist is in the collective conservative imagination.

Maybe the Dems will bring back slavery. Would that make you feel better?

Yes, the party that just flipped 39 seats in the House as well as numerous state legislatures and governorships is the party that is unravelling. Whatever you have to tell yourselves to sleep at night.
