With the huge majority of Americans in disbelief that both Biden and Trump look like they will be the 2024 nominees and want a different matchup, this is why these two look like they will be the nominees:

1. The DNC has effectively cut off any competition for Biden in the Democratic primaries so Democrats have no one else to vote for except Biden. Just ask RFK Jr., Cornell West, and even some others. And, pretty much every Democrat everywhere doesn't want Trump to be the Republican nominee.

2. Republican voters actually want and will vote for Trump to be their nominee. And, pretty much every Republican everywhere doesn't want Biden to be the Democratic nominee.

3. There is an ever growing base of Independent voters, most of whom don't want to see either Biden or Trump as the nominees. But, since Independent voters really have no say in the matter, they are mostly powerless to control who the nominees are in either the Democratic or Republican parties. They are nothing but bystanders.

So, effectively, we have Democrats not wanting Trump to be the nominee, Republicans who don't want Biden to be the nominee, and independents who have no say in the matter.

So, that is why as many people don't want this rematch, why it is most likely to happen anyway.

Pretty much correct.

The system is broken - somehow.

Biden's sole campaign promise is he can beat Trump, and all the evil Trump will bring.

Trump's major cry is he will undo all the evil Biden has brought to us.

It used to be common for politicians to promise (outrageously) to make things better. These two are promising ro not allow things to get worse.

Somehow we have lost our way... .

My fear is that Obama, who is running the show, is delaying the switch to his wife as long as possible so there will be limited time to point out how ridiculous it is to consider her presidential material. There is only about two months between the Dem convention and early voting.

i say that if Obama tries to sneak in Michelle this summer, we revert to Election Day voting so as to give the opposing nominee a chance to campaign against her.

This has been a joke, time to break up the two parties and run a nationwide primary, in which would be in May and the top four candidates move on to the November election. Then if a run off is needed, we could hold that a month later.
