In 2012, Lois Lerner was busted using the IRS to obstruct Romney organizations from operating, thus pulling down Romney's chances. In 2018/19, they impeached Trump twice for both trying to gain information they didn't want him to have as well as steer an election back into the hands of the people instead of THEIR hands. This is just the latest variant on the idea: To criminalize opposition to democrats as hate and "misinformation" as if every political advertisement isn't an EXERCISE already in lies and propaganda, so that republicans have a harder time getting messages out and attracting voters.

When you get as bad as the leftist-controlled democrats are now, the only way you can win an election is if you can control all of the information to voters thus functionally eliminating your competition.
