Fake Christians have that response sir, not mature ones. The faithful have a similar response
Whenever something good happens, God gets all the credit
When something bad happens, God had nothing to do with it
The God of Stupid Named Little Big HornEagles credited God in winning the Super Bowl
What did God have against the Chiefs?
Blaming the VictimWe are victims or beneficiaries of our choices, and our antecedents' choices.
We make our own choices. Very few are forced on us.Blaming the Victim
Who forces these choices on us? The Influencers aren't benevolent gods.
Another moron who equates a wheat plant with a sentient being who feels EVERY emotion you feel. You are right in line with Hitler's contempt for those subhuman Jews. Congratulations
The reality of this physical world is that bad things happen. Perhaps the better reflection is what good ultimately came out of the bad or evil? To bring the best out of our muscles and brain, we have to put in the work, go through the struggles. Could it be for us to bring out the best in ourselves and in this world, we have to put in the work to bring good out of evil? Our second "Perhaps" reflection: If we love God, why don't we bring good out of evil? Think of Him waiting for us to do something while wondering, "If they love me, why won't they.... ?"One of the most facile "arguments" that atheists often fall back on is the banal "If God loves us, why does he let bad things happen?"
You just might be the most tortured soul here."free will" doesnt explain our dilemma here. Life choices contribute to a three year olds cancer? Or a family drowning in a flood?

That would be true if I practiced critical theory like you.
"Pick One of the Above" Leaves Us BelowWe make our own choices. Very few are forced on us.
Then you have no control over your destiny."Pick One of the Above" Leaves Us Below
We don't determine what the choices are, so my objection goes deeper than your smug and shallow point of view.
Why Do Bad Things Happen?
By choiceOne of the most facile "arguments" that atheists often fall back on is the banal "If God loves us, why does he let bad things happen?"
"God’s delays are mysterious; sorrow is sometimes prolonged for the same reason for which it is sent. God may abstain for the moment from healing, not because Love does not love, but because Love never stops loving, and a greater good is to come from the woe. Heaven’s clock is different from ours." —Fulton J. Sheen
