Why do NRA members not support Keith Scott?

Is it legal to kill someone who was a felon because they possessed a gun?
And a blunt....
Smoking in your own car, minding your own business, should get you killed ... by a cop?
You don't help cops look respectable.
Not listing to a cop and having an illegal, gun will,do it every time....or at least it should.....
A cop should not bother a person minding their own business & not threatening anyone.
Agreed....did you have a point?

Wrong - As police were looking for someone else they saw Scott breaking the law, smoking a blunt & possessing a gun. They ran his plate & description & discovered he had a record making it illegal for him to have a gun. The police were obligated to arrest Scott & called in backup. They did not have the right to kill Scott unless he threatened them with the gun.

Scott's hands were down as he backed away from his vehicle, but we couldn't see clearly the moment he was shot. Scott's wife said "Keith, don't you do it!!!" It's possible he had planned something or was maneuvering his gun in the direction of police. The cops might be cleared because of his wife's words on her video.

The handgun was illegal.

Keith Scott WAS carrying a stolen gun, police say – and his wife filed for a restraining order against him saying he was armed, violent and had threatened to kill her
  • Keith Scott's gun had been reported stolen, authorities said on Monday
  • A breaking and entering suspect told officials he had sold him the gun
  • His wife Rakeyia got a restraining order in October last year, records show
  • She wrote: 'He carries a 9mm black' and said he had hit her and a child

Smoking marijuana in your car is not minding your own business. It's violating the law. If the police observe you smoking, they will arrest you. If you refuse to comply and instead get out with a firearm and refuse to follow instructions, they will defend themselves. They gave him AMPLE opportunity to drop the gun.
