Why do retired people constantly gloat?

Yeah....I know this sentiment too well.

I miss work and working. Hanging out with the guys, arguing with the boss, and all the apprentices whining about the abuse I give them when I made them actually work and learn stuff.
What did you do?

I had several careers....not just jobs but careers because I was formally trained.

Commercial/industrial electrical foreman
And
Fine dining chef....(worked with some of the biggest names, places and people....except Gordon. )

happy to get paid to stay home and do what they want, not have some a-hole boss yelling at them?
also the stress of being demoted or fired for a newer, younger DEI hire even though you have more experience.

Wearing out the cushion on an easy chair....my leg joints are shot. Bad right ankle (no cartilage) and degenerative joint in my left knee. (Sounds like a loud glock box when it gets a steroid shot)
So I'm cane shopping unfortunately.

But
There are a few community projects I'm helping out with. Apparently there is a need for retired electricians when you get a team of grumpy old men to help that know exactly how to repair a tractor but nothing about modern building codes.

I've had the left knee worked on once and the right twice, so I feel ya there.

But I'm not even 60 yet and I'm bored. Most of my friends still have to work.
