This is if one believes there is no greater good.
If one does not believe in a "greater good" of sorts, then of course there is nothing wrong with stealing, crushing, dominating others, even turning them into slaves.
"Altruism" isn't solely about "doing good", but even refraining from doing evil which one otherwise could and very well would do is "altruism" as well, just as raping, pillaging, and enslaving others by might has been the due course in many aspects of the cultures in humanity's hardscrabble past.
