why you should garden

Well, we've harvested the tomatoes, sign of blight a few days ago so ripped 'em out. 100+ pounds of green ones in paper bags to ripen in next few weeks.
Have also turned many of the ripe tomatoes into pasta sauce, and some were dried.
Some tomatillos harvested into green salsa sauce, many more still on the vine.
Most cucumbers also harvested and pickled, but more still maturing on vines.
Pulled garlic about a month ago, set it to dry.
About half of the peppers have been picked and used, but many more still going pending first frost.
Speaking of which, the kale is waiting for frost, supposedly enhances the flavor.
First crop of figs picked over a month ago, but second crop not growing much and likely won't mature, it's getting too cool now.
Did harvest the kiwi berries a couple of weeks ago, and have processed.
Most beans have been picked also.

Still, quite a few items, like squash, beets, sweet potatoes, etc. still to be picked, once growth is done. Same with the apples and pears.

Soon will have to do this;
