Yup. They still are required to spend thousands of man hours fighting the Y2k bug..............

Trump just circular filed it........................as Federal agencies wasted massive man hours on it for 17 years.

Trump to federal agencies: I think you can stop preparing for the Y2K bug now

Deregulation is a major ambition of President Donald Trump’s agenda; as one example, he has signed more laws rolling back his predecessor’s regulations than the combined total of the three previous presidents since the process was established by the 1999 Congressional Review Act.

Seven of the more than 50 paperwork requirements the White House eliminated on Thursday dealt with the Y2K bug, according to a memo OMB released. Officials at the agency estimate the changes could save tens of thousands of man-hours across the federal government.

And without a doubt, one of the reasons the bureaucracy is so beside itself about the arrival of the Trump Administration is the fact that it will, in fact, expose nonsense like this. That’s going to make it a lot harder to convince the public that these people and the federal agencies they work for should be given more money, resources or responsibilities.

I'll admit that this is stupid...

Doesn't mean that all government is bad...most is very good. ;)
Which you consider this stupid as well...............reports on this kind of waste for decades.......nobody has been fixing it.......

Government often has 10 agencies doing one job

It takes 10 different offices at the Department of Health and Human Services to run programs addressing AIDS in minority communities. Autism research is spread out over 11 different agencies. Eight agencies at the Defense Department are looking for prisoners of war and missing in action. And Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado has eight different satellite control centers to control 10 satellite programs.

The report, by the non-partisan Government Accountability Office, identifies 26 new areas where federal government programs are fragmented, duplicative, overlapping or just inefficient. Add that to the 162 areas identified in past reports, and Congress has a road map for saving tens of billions of dollars a year.

Just proves what I've said all along.

The primary objective for a bureaucrat is to insure the continued existence of the bureaucracy, all else is secondary.

No wonder they are mad.

President Trump Eliminates Job-Killing Regulations

Trump’s 'Two-for-One' Regulation Executive Order

This latest order tackles yet another one of Trump’s campaign talking points and will require federal agencies to cut two existing regulations for every new regulation they implement.

“If there’s a new regulation, they have to knock out two. But it goes far beyond that, we’re cutting regulations massively for small business and for large business,” Trump said during the signing of the order, while surrounded by small-business leaders. He stressed that the new measure is meant to ease the opening and expansion of small businesses, and said that America’s small businesses “have been treated very badly” and that it was “virtually impossible to expand your existing business because of regulations.”

Following meme explains what is really going on now........and why they are firing away at Trump with everything but the kitchen sink.
