You’re talking about Congress now? Wow...make sure you bend your knees when you move those goalposts like that. 400 seats in Congress are safe. The Senate has like a 85-90% retention rate. Most presidents are 2 term presidents.

Election outcomes usually mirror the previous election.

It would be great if that were not the case by the way...but it isn’t. Where you end usually depends on where you start.
