But you still can't buy one in the United States. It is time to stop protecting Rivian and Tesla, and force them to come up with something economical, instead of keeping affordable electric vehicles out of the U.S. market.

They could make a hybrid where a small ICE motor runs an electric armature, along with all the electrical accessories, as is done with locomotives.

Great torque, very low emissions, relatively lightweight, no immense battery banks that are a disposal headache and make every MVA a toxic cleanup site.

You believe hybrids don't have batteries? Try again.

Already discussed this, but let me remind you "Bloodbath"
Trump said that and the media and lefties ran with it.
Bloodbath

I wonder where did they find the squeaky little infomercial master of ceremonies?

The reason the car is cheap is because it comes from china, which is a fly-by-night mercantile country

Just let the EV market die a well deserved .gov grift death.

If the auto makers want to do something useful invest in more efficient Hybrids like Toyoda is doing.

Hell, today's hybrids don't even need to be plugged in so no worries about getting to a charger only to find copper thieves had cut off charging station cables.

At least Toyoda got the consumer sentiment memo.

They must've neglected to tell us our Venza hybrid could do stuff like this:
BYD DM models, with VtoL, can be transformed into a mobile power bank, providing power for a wide range of electrical appliances, from computers and gaming consoles, open-air cinemas, to kettles and barbecues. From outdoor family adventures to practical travel needs, VtoL technology brings a refreshing, new experience to journeys.

I've thought about that extensively. Why don't they do that? It's viable. Really small diesel + electric.

Not much battery, just motor and motor. Maybe a little battery, but not much.

U.S. businesses have money with which to buy off politicians to bend policy to suit their desire. We could have cheaper prescription drugs too like Canada but don't.
