For Hp & raw Torque performance every hotrodder has a favorite 'grind' on the ole bump stick(camshaft) for his/her build. Various rocker arm ratios, gross lift, duration & cam timing are just part of the mundane equation when creating ones ground shaking dream come true. For the hotrodder the most important decision regarding cam specs is Lobe Separation Angle(LSA), for LSA dictates when & where the all critical Hp/torque is going to present itself throughout the RPM range. LSA also has a secondary role for the hotrodder as it creates sound & that sound is like a hypnotic experience to us. Short oval track personnel often refer to "The 106 sound". Below I included four short vids of different sounds that different LSA's offer.
