I don't think there is or has been ANY economic recovery.
The infrastructure across this whole country is a nightmare, and we don’t seem to have any real plans or intentions of fixing anything. Our government is broke, and our economy is stagnant.
At the same time, we have 11 aircraft carriers, while the next closest country has 1. We build, maintain and defend nations all over the world, with money we don’t have, while our own country falls into dangerous disrepair, and 49 million of our citizens live below the poverty line.
The Dow Jones has hit a record high, with the profits being taxed at very low capital gains rates, but we won’t raise the minimum wage enough so that people who are working full-time still nevertheless are living in abject poverty.
Less people are working, but are asked to do more, and are paid less. Corporate profits are burgeoning, while 15% of the country literally worries about how they’re going to eat today.
The Supreme Court has become a crass political entity, passing laws regarding campaign contributions that have corrupted our entire political system.
Our government is now legally and visibly for sale to the highest bidder. Rome is burning to the ground, while Congress plays its collective fiddle…all the way to the banks that are too big to fail.
