In the past 100 years the Democrat party and liberals/progressives/Socialists did much to destroy this country’s greatness. They are not yet finished. Nevertheless, I suggest that conservatives not wrap themselves in the flag as a way of defeating liberalism. Nobody on the Left, or in the media, wants to see this country return to the limited government the Founders designed; hence, patriotism means nothing to them. So instead of singing the National Anthem, I think young Americans will better understand the on-going conflict between Right and Left if conservatives sing this love song to the Constitution:

In the past 100 years, with Democrats at the helm for most of it, America managed to be left as the worlds only superpower, it's most prosperous nation, champion of the 2 greatest wars the world has ever seen, first to land on the moon, the greatest pioneers of science... and yet Democrats are not done destroying it?

To TheOldSchool: When they were in charge they fed on the accomplishments of others. Socialists call it incrementalism, and they’ve been at it for more than a century.

America managed to be left as the worlds only superpower,

To TheOldSchool: And Democrats hated it from the beginning of the Cold War. The story back then was "If every country has the bomb nobody will use it.” In recent years:

The mindless egalitarianism seen in the Democrats’ domestic policy surfaces in their foreign policy, where the goal is not to strengthen America but to reduce America to the level of other world powers lest it become too “dominant.” Who has been complaining in recent days about America as the “lone” superpower? Madeleine Albright. Who called Ronald Reagan’s “we win, they lose”policy toward Soviet Communism imperialistic? John Kerry.

Kerry wouldn’t negotiate with terrorists, says Albright. Really? Why then did he meet with the Viet Cong terrorists in Paris? Why was his first senatorial field trip a visit to Managua to vouch for the peaceful intentions of Daniel Ortega, a Sandinista terrorist? Redefining terrorists as statesmen is a Democratic habit that won’t die. Their longstanding policy of détente toward America’s enemies is a policy of defeat. You can see this feeble-mindedness in Kerry’s campaign slogan, “Respected in the world,” as if the goal of American foreign policy is to win the affection of America’s enemies.

To TheOldSchool: Wilson was reelected on his promise to keep America out of Europe’s endless wars. He then sent Americans to die in a European slaughterhouse.

Japan attacked America in WWII. Americans who fought that war did so for their country not for socialism. Had Hitler never attacked the Soviet Union American Socialists/Communists would not have fought in WWII.

The radical American Left has been the Democrat party since the 1960s. So if you want to give Democrats credit for winning two World Wars don’t forget to give the American Left credit for bringing defeat to their own country in Vietnam, and trying again in Iraq.

To TheOldSchool: The entire country got behind the space race in order to beat the Soviet Union. Conversely, throughout the Cold War the Democrat party was bending over backwards to help the Soviets in every way they could.

To TheOldSchool: Democrats have nothing to do with science. Their science is the pseudo-science of eugenics, and designer-science keeping environmental hoaxes alive.
