The media frenzy about the so-called Obama administration scandals is confusing many people about which side broke the law.

First, let's look at the AP/Fox News leak story.

It is against the law to leak classified information. It's the Justice Department's responsibility to investigate leaks. Whoever leaked the information broke the law and is subject to being prosecuted. The Obama administration is merely following the letter of the law in seeking to punish people leaking classified information. Seems to me the media is having an hysterical meltdown because some of their sources might rightly go to jail.

Next, let's look at the so called IRS scandal. Everybody knows the Tea Party groups are not social welfare organizations. They don't even believe in social welfare. Seems to me the IRS was taking an efficient shortcut by putting them under more scrutiny. It is against the law to claim to be a tax exempt social welfare group, while spending money on political ads which is what they do. It is the Tea Party groups who were/are breaking the law.

Finally, the so-called Benghazi scandal. The bottom line is this: The Obama administration changed talking points about why the attacks occurred for political purposes. I ask...so what? If it was against the law to lie for political purposes, every politician in America would be in jail. No laws were broken. This minor blunder has been totally overblown.

Frankly, I don't think the American people, as a whole, are going to buy any of this nonsense. The only people who care about this are right wingers who hate Obama because he is black.

Fox scandal even has David Axelrod calling the investigation "disturbing" and old time left wingers like Carl Bernstein calling for Holder's resignation.

IRS scandal? Tea Party groups should be investigated for 3 years for a tax exemption as compared to liberal groups?

And Benghazi? The scandal was for political purposes to cover the Administrations ass for not providing security to Ambassador Stevens.

It was a coverup to make sure no one knew that they left that compound unguarded and as a
result 4 Americans died because of the negligence of Obama's Administration.

Organizing for America

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The formation of Organizing for America was announced by then-President-Elect Obama on January 17, 2009.[4]

The group officially began operations on the third day of the Obama administration, January 23, 2009. On the same day, it was announced that Mitch Stewart would serve as the first Director. Jeremy Bird, a former Obama for America field operative, was named Deputy Director.[5] In mid January 2013 the organization was transformed into a nonprofit group Organizing for Action. The president's 2012 campaign manager, Jim Messina, was announced as the group's national chairman, and White House official Jon Carson will leave the administration and become the executive director. Campaign senior adviser David Axelrod will serve as a consultant.

The organization will accept donations from individuals and corporations but not from lobbyists and political action committees. Offices will be in Washington and Chicago.[6]

Mission [edit]

The organization's activities originally centered around political activism in favor of Obama's early legislative goals including the 2009 stimulus package and Democratic Party plans to reform the healthcare system. Another stated goal of OFA was alleviating perceived political apathy and increasing support for the Democratic Party
. In preparation for President Obama's second term, Organization for America was turned into a nonprofit group — funded in part by corporate money — to mobilize support behind the president's agenda. As a tax exempt organization it will seek to harness the energy of the president's re-election campaign for future legislative fights. The group will be separate from the Democratic National Committee and advocate on key policy issues such as gun control and immigration, train future leaders and devote attention to local issues throughout the United States.

So How Did Obama’s Organizing for Action Get IRS 501(c)(4) Approval So Quickly?

Posted by Jammie on May 15, 2013 at 8:15 am

With Obama’s IRS scandal mushrooming by the day, we’ve been learning that some applications for 501(c)(4) status have languished for years and while some targeted groups have simply given up since delays were so long. Yet curiously, some groups favorable to Obama or actually run by an Obama have been mysteriously sped up through the process.

Lois Lerner, the senior IRS official at the center of the decision to target tea party groups for burdensome tax scrutiny, signed paperwork granting tax-exempt status to the Barack H. Obama Foundation, a shady charity headed by the president’s half-brother that operated illegally for years.

According to the organization’s filings, Lerner approved the foundation’s tax status within a month of filing, an unprecedented timeline that stands in stark contrast to conservative organizations that have been waiting for more than three years, in some cases, for approval.

So do you honestly believe Tea Party groups are social welfare organizations?

And you honestly think OFM is a social welfare organization?

• Bus for Progress, a New Jersey non-profit that uses a red, white and blue bus to "drive the progressive change." According to its website, its mission includes "support (for) progressive politicians with the courage to serve the people's interests and make tough choices." It got an IRS approval as a social welfare group in April 2011.

• Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment says it fights against corporate welfare and for increasing the minimum wage. "It would be fair to say we're on the progressive end of the spectrum," said executive director Jeff Ordower. He said the group got tax-exempt status in September 2011 in just nine months after "a pretty simple, straightforward process."

• Progress Florida, granted tax-exempt status in January 2011, is lobbying the Florida Legislature to expand Medicaid under a provision of the Affordable Care Act, one of President Obama's signature accomplishments. The group did not return phone calls. "We're busy fighting to build a more progressive Florida and cannot take your call right now," the group's voice mail said.

Like the Tea Party groups, the liberal groups sought recognition as social welfare groups under Section 501(c)(4) of the tax code, based on activities like "citizen participation" or "voter education and registration."

IRS approved liberal groups while Tea Party in limbo

I despise Obama because he is a Communist, a charlatan, and a conman. I also know enough about the Second World War to recognize the similarities between then and now. Makes no difference whether he's black, but he's not, he's half white, spawn of a repugnant Communist harlot and a Kenyan Communist.

Its recently come out that his half brother back in Kenya is busily at work aiding and abetting the Islamists and al Qaeda affiliated groups back in Kenya.
Meanwhile, over here, Comrade Barack ain't doin a half bad job, either, aiding and abetting the World Wide Islamic Caliphate.
The Germans are pretty smart people, the list of German names in the annals of science and discovery is pretty formidable. Angela Merckel said it best when she uttered the statement "Multi Kulti ist kaput". A word from the wise is usually sufficient, but Comrade Barack has made it a priority to cultivate this type of American citizen instead of the Jeffersonia ideal, the farmer who read Homer in the original Greek at night.

Welfare Queen: ?Who Would Want To Work In America? This Is What The Taxpayers Are Paying For?? | Weasel Zippers

The Brits found out just how "Kaput" "Multi kulti" was last week when two Boko Haram wannabes hacked the British Tommie Lee Rigby to death in front of a crowd of helpless witnesses who waited twenty minutes for armed police to arrive, further vindicating the truism "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away" That scene in London last week is precisely the scene Comrade Barack is desperately trying to set for Americans over here.

Obama becomes President and then forms this political organization who by the way got 501c....he took A oath to REPRESNT ALL THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNRY..

such a snake you people in office

but hey, it's just a SO CALLED SCANDAL

Yes, because they really believe in social welfare whereas Tea Party members openly say they don't.

they changed ONE WORD, and put in organizing FOR ACTION

The National Legal and Policy Center filed an official complaint with the IRS in May 2011 asking why the foundation was being allowed to solicit tax-deductible contributions when it had not even applied for an IRS determination. In a New York Post article dated May 8, 2011, an officer of the foundation admitted, “We haven’t been able to find someone with the expertise” to apply for tax-exempt status.

Nevertheless, a month later, the Barack H. Obama Foundation had flown through the grueling application process. Lerner granted the organization a 501(c) determination and even gave it a retroactive tax exemption dating back to December 2008.

The group’s available paperwork suggests an extremely hurried application and approval process. For example, the group’s 990 filings for 2008 and 2009 were submitted to the IRS on May 30, 2011, and its 2010 filing was submitted on May 23, 2011.

Lerner signed the group’s approval [pdf] on June 26, 2011.

Glad you aren't employed at the IRS.

Look what part of "the IRS has apologized for unfairly targeting conservative groups" don't you understand?

What part of " the Inspector General of the Treasury Department found wrong doing within the IRS over the targeting of conservative groups" don't you get?

there I answered you two faced hypocrites... you see nothing wrong with our President forming a political organization to get in people faces and whizzed through for tax exempt

What 501(c)s are - which is not just for social welfare.
501(c)(3) exemptions apply to corporations, and any community chest, fund, cooperating association or foundation, organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, or educational purposes,

See the bold that say literary and educational purposes?
They want to educate the public on our history, our constitution and Common Core that is starting in our public schools. They are also doing voter education, voter registration and get out the vote, just like the lefty 501(c)'s are doing.
Why is it that only the left can do this, but not the right?

What 501(c)'s can do and it is what they are doing is;
Certain activities or expenditures may not be prohibited depending on the facts and circumstances. For example, certain voter education activities (including presenting public forums and publishing voter education guides) conducted in a non-partisan manner do not constitute prohibited political campaign activity. In addition, other activities intended to encourage people to participate in the electoral process, such as voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, would not be prohibited political campaign activity if conducted in a non-partisan manner.

Holder lied to congress under oath- that's illegal.

IRS appointees used their power to target groups that they politically disagreed with- that's illegal

Using your power to engage in subterfuge in order to hamper 1st amendment protection is illegal

Turning your back on 4 Americans that led to their death. Lying about what actually transpired. Setting up a fall guy that is now actually still in jail. ...Criminal- yeah, but worse; immoral and unethical behavior unbecoming leaders!

It is difficult to decide whether the OP is ignorant, deceptive or BOTH. A knowledgeable person would understand that an organization which educates the public regarding a particular issue is a social welfare organization, regardless of whether one agrees with it. An honest person would not bring up racial discrimination when discussing an unrelated topic.

I guess I have to vote for BOTH.
