Active Shooter UAB Hospital in Birmingham

Is the hospital another gun free zone?
Sure...what were they thinking? Doctors and nurses should be packing.

Armed security guards. You know. Like they have on Capitol Hill.
You don't think they have those at hospitals?

they do-----but hospitals are BIG places and shooters can easily "case" the joint. -----getting past the armed guard
snoozing in the main lobby is not a big task

Making shit up as you go? Typical!

If you would stop shooting up hospitals, you wouldn't have to witness them!

Capt. H.R. Watson of Birmingham Fire and Rescue told news reporters that two victims were shot and wounded Wednesday night, and the shooter then shot himself. He said one victim was in critical condition with multiple wounds and was transported to the main UAB hospital.

He said authorities unsure of the shooter's relation to the victims and whether the victims worked at the hospital. He added that police "still have a lot to find out."

Gentlemen

THIS IS A CONCERTED EFFORT TO CONFISCATE ARMS AND DISARM US

.
The correlation in all of this is mighty coincidental, and especially it all coming at such a divisive time in America. Makes one definitely go Hmmmm..
Please tell me you are kidding.
You're not curious of why the uptake in this stuff seems to happen during certain political time periods or does it never have any relationship to politics ever ?? Your call.

shoot outs in hospitals do tend to make news if anyone is HIT or if anyone dies. --------

Republican solution: do nothing, wait for the next tragedy, do nothing..
Actual republican solution: shoot the gunman.
Liberal solution: Call the cops, who will wait outside until the shooter surrenders/commits suicide.

It's the 1960-'70's all over again..

No...actually, we are now safer than we were then because more Americans own and carry guns....

We went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 17 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2017...guess what happened...
-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.
That certainly shows with a shooting almost daily now.

And every day more Americans use their guns to stop violent criminals....but since no one is killed, since they used a gun to save a life.....we don't get to wade through the blood you guys smear on the nearest cameras....

A quick guide to the studies and the numbers.....the full lay out of what was studied by each study is in the links....

The name of the group doing the study, the year of the study, the number of defensive gun uses and if police and military defensive gun uses are included.....notice the bill clinton and obama defensive gun use research is highlighted.....

If you take the studies from that Kleck cites in his paper, 16 of them....and you only average the ones that exclude military and police shootings..the average becomes 2 million...I use those studies because I have the details on them...and they are still 10 studies (including Kleck's)....

Isn't there bombs going off in Texas ?? Sounds like someone took a break from trucks and guns, and now we got bombs. Wow.

More than anything the biased media brings up every incident when certain people are in office. Shining example is this incident, labeled active shooter when he went in shot 2 then proceeded to kill himself immediately thereafter. By the time it hit the airwaves he had already killed himself, yet it was labeled active shooter. The exception is in certain locales you will never hear of shootings nationally.

There's more to statistics and reality than the front page of the newspaper or 5 minutes of CNN: the viewing of which appears to be the peak of your intellectual abilities.

Like I said in other threads, and I will keep saying it, where as it's time to bring back the hanging judge, and also the noose. Public hangings is the only shock and awe this nation will learn from once again. It's gone to far.

Hang 'em Danno!

(I know he was the minister and not the hangman!)
Careful, you are telling your age.. lol

Knew that actor looked familiar. Book'em Danno. lol

whatevah takes place in hospitals----the JOURNALISTS
NEVAH GET IT RIGHT. Keep in mind-----they want a
CATCHY title-----"it's all over" is not a catchy title. It happens ALL THE TIME

You're actually silly enough to suggest a public death penalty is going to matter to mass shooters --- who usually make themselves their last victim?
