Notice...these measures are not hidden ways to go after normal gun owners like all the other "common sense" gun control measures are. they also target actual criminals...another thing the anti gun "common sense" measures don't do.
Common-sense solutions to reduce gun violence
•Vigorously enforce all existing gun laws.
•Create a tip line tied to a monetary rewards program for people turning in other people who illegally possess guns or are in possession of stolen guns. Funding could be provided through existing asset forfeiture programs.
•Produce and air position-neutral gun safety PSAs on radio and TV.
•Have all public elementary schools offer the NRA’s Eddie Eagle GunSafe program annually. Parents can opt out if they so choose.
•Develop a position-neutral gun safety class for middle school through high school students presented by certified firearms instructors or local law enforcement and offer this class annually. Parents can opt out if they choose.
•Encourage musicians and popular artists to stop glorifying violence in their lyrics and videos.
•Allow certified firearms instructors access to law enforcement shooting ranges at a nominal cost so they can offer firearms classes at an affordable cost.
•Pass legislation making the purchase of lockable pistol storage boxes like the GunVault products and traditional gun safes a tax credit you can claim on your federal income tax return.
