The Batan Death March was 72-Years ago.

94-Pedro Pineda was one of over 78,000 U.S. and Filipino Soldiers who lived through the 63-Mile Forced March of prisoners after the defeat by Japan in April 1942.

The Death March is NOT taught in very many U.S. Schools, mainly due to the fact that it was one of the worst Military Defeats in U.S. History.

Many of U.S. and Filipino Soldiers, Sailor, Airmen and yes Women who surrendered were tortured and kill by the Japanese Guards.

Memorial Day IS NOT about Car Sales and Family Picnics.

Memorial Day IS NOT a Republican Party Holiday.

Memorial Day IS NOT a Democratic Party Holiday.

It is an AMERICAN HOLIDAY.

It is about remembering hundreds of thousands Men and Women who through their bravery and sacrifice make this day possible.

No one person or persons, no one political party or group own this day.

We need to remember that.
