It's simple. All of us.
All of us are to blame. Dems, Libs, Conservs, Righties, etc.

Why are all of us to blame? Because we don't prevent it.
How does it happen? Lobbying with $$$.

Who is guilty of lobbying with $$$?
Firearms manufactures, for profit prisons, etc.

Wait, aren't they the good guys who help us conserve and maintain our rights/freedoms? Yes, and mostly no.

They are businesses, who are out to make a profit. Whats a better way to make a profit other than generating demand?

You see, Those who lobby for things like stricter laws and sentences are the ones who supply law enforcement with equipment so they can do their jobs. If law enforcement has more laws to enforce, they will have more work to do, and they need equipment to do so, which they buy from the industries who lobby to politicians, which have that affect you. Yes you. They are going to need someone to enforce laws against and to throw into jail, so they can make a profit.

The conservative approach towards government that consist of private, "for profit" prisons is there to have people in jail while they make a profit from prisoners in deplorable conditions.

Don't forget that they are doing away with due process, too.
Without due process (This is from the Democratic side), then they can get you easier and business can keep going with ease.

Our government is not of the people, for the people, or by the people anymore.
It consist of businessmen politicians who sell political power, which leads to the deterioration of due process. (And those among the other politicians who will want to make a positive impact will just contribute to the deterioration since they can't do much else)

How can you stop this? Flush out the house and congress.
Stop voting Democrat and/or Republican.
Start movements to ban lobbying and corporate rights.
Keep flushing congress and the house at every term. Out with the old, in with the new.

By doing this, you will disrupt attempts at lobbying as connections and bonds are brittle, without much opportunity for lobbying. Take money out of politics and put democracy back in.

"Due process" is a short term regarding the 5th Amendment to the US Constitution guaranteeing the right of all Americans to arrest, indictment and trial. The current democrat president has issued presidential orders to execute Americans when "due-process" becomes difficult. The issue has nothing to do with prison conditions, 2nd Amendment rights or "making a profit".

It didn't happen last election even with the economy in shambles. The best Obama could do is tear down Romney. Don't expect the liberal left to ever change their ways. They laugh about in fighting in the RNC, at least that is heathier then the lemmings in the DNC. You'll never see those zomibies arguing about anything.
