Remember this movie from 1979?
It takes place in Southern Cali in 1998 where the worlds supply of gas,oil,etc... have just run out. Now people walk,bike and rollerskate to work and live in their cars.
Electricity is still available,but everything is coin-operated....In a desparate rush to save the planet,the president (played by John Ritter) and his staff set up a special TV marathon--hence the name "Americathon 1998--to raise money for the cause.
Sounds like a good movie! (As most were then)
