As I have said, the anti gunners fight gun safety programs in schools......why would they do that? Well...if you teach children to leave a room that has an unattended gun in it and find an adult to deal with it...you would have fewer children killed in gun accidents.....

And there is the rub......dead kids because of guns are one of the best tools the anti gunners have for pushing more gun control...one less dead kid is on less opportunity to change a persons mind against guns......

Ask Gabby Gifford's husband when he acknowledged the good that the NRA's Eddie Eagle program does to keep kids safe.......

On April 14 gun control proponent Mark Kelly tweeted his support for the NRA’s efforts to teach gun safety to kids, causing the Huffington Post to come unglued.

Kelly specifically praised Eddie Eagle, the NRA gun safety program for kids.

I'm a Massachusetts CCW holder. I regularly carry a handgun in public. There are three separate things Mr. Hernandez could have been charged with.....

Illegal Possession of Ammunition

He was only charged with two of the three. The one he wasn't (Possession during a Crime) is the only one that carries a MANDATORY sentence (1 year) in jail. He got a total of 3.5 - 4 years for the other two (which he was convicted of). Considering the length of time the trial took, if he'd been found innocent on the Murder charge, but was convicted of the other two charges, he'd serve less than half of that total sentence due to TIME SERVED.

Illegal gun and ammo possession laws HAVE NO TEETH. More importantly, they're often plea bargained away to get the criminal to accept a reduced charge. That's INSANE. If you want these illegal guns off the street, make the mere possession of them a SERIOUS crime with SERIOUS, MANDATORY PENALTIES, and do not allow these ADA's to plea them away with impunity.

You're absolutely right but nobody on the other side of the issue is going to admit it. They don't understand what gun owners have known for years.... properly introducing your kids to firearms is a far greater deterent to them having an accident than hiding them away and turning them into some unknown treasure to be sought out and explored without parents present.
