Virginia is a cautionary tale for TX and other red or formally red states......How did we get so many dems? For Virginia it's transplants from a ever expanding federal .gov coming here to work around NOtVA.

Often a young man or woman graduates from high school and gets a job. They may move into an apartment but it might be in a bad area of town as their pay grade isn’t all that high.

A young woman may be a target for a rapist and not being able to buy a firearm leaves her basically defenseless. Her attacker may realize she is too young to buy a firearm which makes her an easy target.

A young man might face street thugs or home invaders and have a better chance of defending himself if he was able to buy a firearm. Street crime is increasing in many big blue cities in our nation.

Of course some point out you can always throw a can of beans at your attacker but all that will do is piss him off.

I try to be optimistic as well as realistic so I don't assume that everyone trying to get into America would be against the 2nd Amendment or a criminal.

If I had just escaped from a "Marxist socialist shit hole" that prohibited private gun ownership, one of the first things I would do would be to buy a defensive / target pistol for me and my family.

I've already had three instances in which I had to deploy a firearm to defend myself and / or others and a firearm only has to save your life once to make it worth the time and money to learn how to safely use one.
