It’s easy to argue that the “green” movement is causing much more environmental harm than good. High energy costs are leading to poverty, which in turn leads to less investment in environmental protection and nature conservation.

Biodiversity-rich forests are being cleared away to make room for wind parks and people are increasingly burning wood to stay warm as an alternative to natural gas and heating oil.

We can have both progress on alternative energy sources while still using what the earth has provided to us. The way I see this, is that there is no way that oil isn't going to continue to be extracted and used by the world. If not the First World than developing countries.

So, the planet should leverage clean extraction and the abundance of this energy. Learn to leverage the sun and other forms of energy. On a large industrial scale, we are not even near the requirements.

Meh, trees grow back.

During the Civil War there was hardly a tree to be found from Fredericksburg, Virginia to the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains due to the Armies of both sides in winter quarters in that area for a couple of years. The same could be said of the Petersburg, Virginia area when they went to building fortifications and winter quarters there.

LOL.....I guess a chainsaw sounds like warmth to the square-heads now. ;)

The best way to do this is for Governments to offer tax breaks to companies that invest their own money on improving alternative energy sources and have a means to make sure they are actually doing it. Tax paying citizens should not have to fund these things. The Solandra scandal in the US and Spain's green economy disaster proves Governments have no business forcing the issue.

The GOP 2005 Energy Policy Act doesn't agree with yous.

This photograph shows deforestation in the Amazon, not Europe. It is the result of policies of the Trump clone Bolsonaro.
