Assault Rifle

Why are AR 15s more popular than any other semi-auto real hunting rifles? Just because they are semi-auto M 16s and look tough for the other boys?

Want to Buy an Assault Rifle in Florida? No Problem

What about if I wanted to buy a DEFENSE RIFLE?

The thing these idiots don't seem to understand than anything can be an "assault" weapon.

What is the fucking difference? When you can fire off 30 rounds in under 10 seconds, and switch magazines in under 2 seconds, and the people you are killing are unarmed, what the hell is the difference? You bastards have played with semantics far to long.

These guns were designed for one purpose only, killing people. And they do that very well. And are very easy to get, do not even have to go to a dealer. One person on the board from Missouri bought one with the ammo and extra magazines in a Walmart parking lot, no questions asked. And each time with have tens of people gunned down, we go through the lies from people like you all over again. Eventually, someone will do something horrific enough with one of these assault weapons that they will flat out be outlawed, and merely possessing one will be a felony. And then you will regret not working with those of us that would not ban them, but would control who has them off their own property.

Now who here is killing anyone?

The people you are addressing are not killing anyone. In fact a very small fraction of a percent of gun owners kill anyone with their weapons.

You telling law abiding responsible people that they shouldn't have this or that or do this or that because of what a very small fraction of percent of people might do is the problem here.

And I guess I have been using my firearms wrong for all these years since none of my firearms have ever killed anyone

The problem is not the arm or arms, it is psychology. The excessive fascination with these military style rifles indicates an unhealthy fetishism. A semi-auto 30.06 deer rifle just doesn't look 'bad', but it will sure enough kill at 600 meters and much further in the right hands.

Well one thing we now about psychology is that demonizing any object will increase the desire for it

There is a clear statistical correlation, yes. Simple, uneasy minds are not difficult to addle.

Yes and the powers that be do it anyway
Why is that do you think?

Who profits?

What's to fear from a non-existent group? Of course, there is no end to fear of imagined enemies.

So..the fix to the mass shooting....

Universal background checks.....which would have stopped none of the mass shootings we have ever had.

No fly, no buy list....again, not one mass shooting in America would have been stopped by this.

Assault weapon ban....not one mass shooting that we have had would have been stopped by a ban on assault weapons......our worst mass shootings could all have been done with pistols...in fact...the Virginia tech shooting, the worst mass shooting before this one...was done with a pistol............so those will be on the target list in the next mass shooing...

So, of the laws proposed not one actually addresses the problem of mass shooters....

Not a single one.......

And yet...those are the ones that just happen to be things the democrats have been bitching about....but again...on't do anything to stop mass shooters...

Hell, they won't stop regular gun crime either.....

But we are supposed to trust the intentions of gun grabbers...

To gun hating Liberals, those things sound good. They can say they tried and when it doesn't work blame the failure on anyone but their lack of thinking.

More gun control is a career politicians wet dream...
After all so called "gun control" has nothing to do with firearms, it's all about control...

An ar15 is just a sporting rifle nothing more nothing less...
Please educate yourself if you're gonna stay in your mothers basement
And you are a lying asshole. The man that designed and built the first prototype of the AR and M-16 stated that it was for only one purpose, and that was to kill people on the battlefield, and he never imagined it in the hands of civilians.

Family Of AR-15 Designer Says It Was Never Meant For Civilian Use

Another high-profile mass shooting has put the AR-15 assault rifle at the center of America's gun debate — again. Now the family of one of the weapon's designers is speaking out.

The family of Eugene Stoner, the man credited with developing the AR-15 and its military counterpart the M-16, told NBC "his intent was that he designed it as a military rifle," not for civilian use. They also said he never owned one of his signature rifles, despite his fondness for sport shooting.
This has already been shot down in anorther thread but thanks for playing.

Nope. They're popular because they are modular. You can build one for any particular job. I have one which is a long range tack driver, and I have another which is a dedicated .22LR practice rifle. It is not uncommon for people to own three or four of them all set up to do different things. That's why. As usual, you idiots think it's all about how nasty they look. Grow up.
