I took my daughter and grandkids to the Georgia aquarium in Atlanta a few years back and it was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it.
Also, just a quick walk across the courtyard from the aquarium is the World of Coca-Cola museum featuring the beverage sold around the world with free samples. Which is very interesting and is an under two hour guided tour.
We did that the first day and then spent the night in a hotel close to Stone Mountain which is about 20 miles from Atlanta.
That's were the huge relief of the Confederate leaders is craved into the side of the mountain. There is a cable car to take people to the top of the mountain which is a unique geological formation. There is all kinds of amusement rides and picnic areas.
My middle son is planing to take his family to the Georgia aquarium this summer. He told me that now you have to schedule your visit and purchase your tickets online in advance.
