Ball of confusion: 60s music

I was in a urban choir (Cole Jr High 1969) that was asked to sing at funeral of a black boy shot by cops robbing a gas station (unfortunately I knew this poor idiot). I declined politely The song Mr. Halpern chose to sing at the memorial? Its actually a really moving.

I don't know how many friends and family I lost in Vietnam, they are gone. The names on the wall in DC, but I remember them. I was sitting in a garage next to my dad in a rainstorm, listing to the the monkey's song "Pleasant valley Sunday". yeah, like that,
