Barry gives Medal of Freedom to Tom Hanks, Vin Scully, and Ellen the perv. WHY?

Bill Gates got one too and that's ok. He's a tech businessman. But why give one to silly entertainers or athletes who have careers of ZERO social value.

Obama awards Medal of Freedom to a star-studded list of 21 recipients

nov 22 2016 The 21 men and women who stood awaiting the nation’s highest civilian honor Tuesday in the White House East Room represented Barack Obama’s particular vision of the United States: one where pioneering scientists, groundbreaking performers, crusading activists and unconventional artists chart America’s destiny.

President Obama has not stinted on handing out the Presidential Medal of Freedom during his time in office: He has bestowed it on at least 114 individuals, more than any of his predecessors. Nearly half of the latest honorees were artists, actors or musicians, including singer Bruce Springsteen, actor Robert Redford and “Saturday Night Live” producer Lorne Michaels.

But there were also computer engineers and famous architects, as well as what the president called “rabble rousers” and philanthropists.

The awards came from a man who won the Nobel..for not doing anything.

You're going to love this:

Reagan gave one to James Cagney, Helen Hayes, Danny Kaye and James Steward.
Bush senior gave one to Lucille Ball and Audrey Hepburn.
Dubya gave one to Doris Day, Charlton Heston and Rita Moreno.

Colin Powell got one from Bush senior AND Clinton.

Bill Gates didn't get one for his business, he got it for his philanthropy.

Dubya gave one to Tony Blair, leader of the Labour Party (more left wing than the Democratic Party).

Obama gave one to Bush senior. Clinton gave one to Ford. The only two presidents to give one to a president of the opposite party, and both were Democrats giving to Republicans.

Dubya gave one to Bremer, you remember the guy who fucked up Iraq seriously? Hmm... who knew "failure" could get you a medal.

Only Nixon and Obama have given one for Space Exploration.

Dubya gave one to Muhammed Ali, Hank Aaron, Arnold Palmer along with a load of other sports people.

I think Ellen Degeneres is a second string cultural figure

DeNiro, Hanks, Spingsteen, Vin Scully, Jabbar have made an impact and paid their dues
Degeneres came out as a lesbian when she had a number 1 hit TV show and was at the peak of her career. It was a financial risk she was willing to make to support the lesbian community.
So did Rosie ODonnell
Five years after Ellen, and after Ellen's coming out was being viewed as positive and staying in the closet was viewed as cowardice and negative.

You ain't on the board so that means your opinion is worthless in these regards. Just partisan trash talk, nothing more.

If they are going to award such a medal, it should go to people who have actually gone out of their way to do things in the name of freedom. Gary Sinise?

Sinise is a supporter of various veterans' organizations, both personally and through the Lt. Dan Band. He frequently performs on USO tours at military bases around the world, and volunteered for the National Vietnam Veterans Arts Museum now called the National Veterans Art Museum. On June 8, 2011, he put on a space suit to become one of the few people to fly in a U-2 spy plane up to 70,000 feet.[17] Sinise is also on the Advisory Council of Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to provide a full cycle of nonmedical care to combat-wounded service members, their families, and families of the fallen from each military branch.[18] In December 2011, Sinise was the narrator at the Candelight Processional at Disneyland. In August 2012, Sinise was honored at the United States Navy Memorial, by Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Rick West, and was made an honorary U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer for his efforts in helping veterans.[19] On August 29, 2013, he was named an honorary Marine by the Commandant of the Marine Corps.[20][21] In 2006, Sinise has co-narrated the National Memorial Day Concert on the Mall in Washington, D.C., with actor and Illinois native Joe Mantegna.[22] He serves as the national spokesperson for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial and spends much of his time raising awareness for the memorial and other veterans' service organizations.[23] In 2012, he was honored by the Joe Foss Institute for his dedication to veterans. In 2013, he was awarded the third highest honor within the Department of the Army Civilian Awards, the Outstanding Civilian Service Award, for substantial contributions to the U.S. Army community through his work with the Gary Sinise Foundation. He participated in Troopathon VI for 2013, as he has in the past, to help raise money for care packages for American troops.[24] He received 2015's Sylvanus Thayer Award, awarded by the West Point Association of Graduates to a civilian whose character, service, and achievements reflect the ideals prized by the U.S. Military Academy.[25][26]
So do you just whine on message boards or have you actually joined any of the several efforts attemptinf to get Sinise on the list for recipients of the Medal of Freedom?

I didn't even know this award existed until I read about it in this thread. Lol. Just another way for the government to waste money, silly "awards" that don't mean anything.

The Democrats have always been gaga over Hollywood Celebrities. They have shallowness in common. Plus Hollywood advances the filth and perversion necessary for Democrats to expand.

Celebrity Democrat endorsements are very valuable you know...

It makes the Democrats seem like the classy party when they get celebutard endorsements. So they give them useless medals and awards in return.

Ellen Degenerate came out as a lesbian (surprise! I never would have guessed!) when it was expedient to do so. She took no risk. In fact she became the darling of the shallow fad following celebrity set. She got fawning coverage from the press and her finances were improved by her announcement.
What a sick, backwards and upside down morality these liberal elites have.

And it has bled into important parts of our culture..such as "Vote for Hillary she is a woman".

What's hilarious about the gays is the huge contribution to society from such a small group.

HUH??? What contribution is it that faggots make.??? All i see is all the kids they molest and all the self-inflicted horrible diseases they insist the rest of us pay for. And also - they are a protected group and require affirmative action special treatment.

Queers are nothing but trouble.

Made an impact is not the same as fighting for freedom. They are all just silly entertainers with jobs of no social value.

No requirement that you have to fight for freedom

Well this is what YOU think. Other people may think differently. I mean, you could give them your own Medal of Freedom, see if they accept it.

HUH??? It's called the Medal of Freedom, you moron!!!

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation's highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

Who cares about culture, you fool? Artists are just useless entertainers. Somebody said "a pair of boots is worth more than all the plays of shakespeare."
