Yep, we had a Virginia State record (non-typical) buck killed in my county years ago during ML season on a 50 acre parcel of property that bordered the Shenandoah National Park.

My gawd, the young man that killed it whet through a bunch of shit between neighboring land owners claiming it was killed on their property, the park wardens claiming it was killed on them, claims it was shot with a rifle, claims it was jack-lighted, and just general asshat claims.....It was just embarrassing.

Finally the county VDGIF warden said fuck all that noise and proclaimed, in the local paper no less, the buck a legal harvest.

It did not end there though.....While it was at the taxidermist someone tried breaking in and steal it!
