Before and After Pics @ Shit Plant

how about just realizing these corporations need to be held to certain standards through government instead of pretending they are saints and will only do what it right?

They blew these people UP to save money

Everytime you fools call for deregulation something bad happens.

then you do it all over again

What wasn't the Government doing?... They are Regulated, Correct?...

So what's your Answer?... Sounds like Government Regulators Failed to Act here?

:)

actually, this industry is regulated and no one has called for its deregulation. further, it appears the government did not even know about this corporation and it is speculated that this is the result of bad government oversight and illegal activities on the corp owners.

stop being so dishonest.,

How do you know that.

The plant was storing 1,300 times the permitted amounts of ammonium nitrate.

Texas fertilizer company didn't heed disclosure rules before blast

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The fertilizer plant that exploded on Wednesday, obliterating part of a small Texas town and killing at least 14 people, had last year been storing 1,350 times the amount of ammonium nitrate that would normally trigger safety oversight by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

they refused to follow the law for profits sake.

the people paid the ultimate cost of that

yep. see my thread about it mal

Looks like the USMB lynch mob is out for blood again. After chasing every two-bit report about the Boston bombers and accusing the innocent, now they're after the fertilizer plant operators and the government, in spite of the fact that NOBODY YET KNOWS WHAT CAUSED THE EXPLOSION!

they had over a 1000X the legal limit. had they not had that amount the explosion may not have occurred or if it had, it would have been far less damaging. the government did not have proper oversight of this extremely large facility.

doesn't matter what caused it, the damage is the fault of the owner and to a lessor extent the government.

Learn to read with some kind of understanding. That article CLAIMED they had many times more than the allowed amount, without any evidence to support that claim at all, and it was reportedly LAST YEAR.

Uh...that explosion was THIS year and the only amount present which matters is what was there the day it exploded....right?

And, you know what? Maybe nobody is to blame. Maybe it was just an accident. They DO happen, you know.

"It seems this manufacturer was willfully off the grid," Rep. Bennie Thompson, (D-MS), ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, said in a statement. "This facility was known to have chemicals well above the threshold amount to be regulated under the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards Act (CFATS), yet we understand that DHS did not even know the plant existed until it blew up."

i'm virtually positive that a blast that size was not one caused by less than 400lbs of fertilizer. they willfully were off the grid, doesn't sound too honest to me.

i will be shocked if they were within the legal limits.

Yeah, that manhunt in Boston kind of overshadowed that tragedy.

A man using his cell phone captured the moment last night when the west fertilizer company plant exploded.

MAN: You OK? You OK?

GIRL: Dad, I can't hear. I can't hear.

MAN: Cover your ears.

GIRL: Get out of here. Please get out of here.
