The OP rightly asks the question (paraphrased) "why don't we see fulfillment of the promises of good health for all Christians that are so common in the bible. Do you have an answer to that or not?
Many of the verses quoted seem to reference a spirit of optimism and/or peace. Anxiety and depression have been overcome by the presence or closeness of God.
This is by no means a scientific observation, because as someone very familiar with the scientific method, this cannot be tested by constants with a single variable. Yet, it is interesting that along with reports of young people no longer embracing church, there are reports of growing depression and anxiety in this very population. Some might say they don't feel as healthy as young people in the past.
I guess some might, but that doesn't explain why devout get sick. They were promised that wouldn't happen.
It's one reason I am not as sure about my Christianity as I once was. The more I study and honestly look for answers, the less believable the whole concept becomes. Strait answers to strait questions are few and far between.
