If Putin attacks a NATO ally, the US will respond with all of our power. Ukraine is not a NATO member. They could have followed the example of the Baltic states and joined NATO, but that wouldn't have worked for the Biden/Zelensky money laundering operation, so here we are. The US has no business in what ultimately is an internal conflict.
