CDZ Big Government And Big Church Are Now The Same Thing

Our ancestors escaped Europe to set up shop over here for that very reason. Is another 1776 moment needed again, to retake individual liberty, that is being eroded under the guise of religious freedom?

So your word is all you have?

Well, for some couples marriage is a sacrament over and above the contract.
So what?

They can still have their religious ceremony but for the state to recognize their marriage they must also have a civil ceremony.

Too funny. Hate much?
So you like the idea of the government passing laws that favor religions and giving them power to officiate state business?

If we can't have prayer is school why the hell should the government recognize any religious ceremonies?

It would be wrong to tell couples they can't marry in church when the church also fulfills the statuary requirements of the marriage contract. When you marry in church it's the same as a civil ceremony but with blessings.

Never said they can't get married in a church did I?

LOL. It is what it is so deal with it.

You sign the same documents and have two witnesses either way.
Irrelevant and FYI not all state require witnesses.

The points is no religious ceremony should be given any legal validity by the government.

Separation of church and state and all that other First Amendment stuff

I'm pretty sure every state requires two witnesses. Which don't?

The clergy have to meet the state's requirements for the marriage contract.

Too late for you to learn anything.
