The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant is reaching out to recruit Americans and other westerners for jihad in Syria and Iraq, and, possibly, future terror attacks in this country and in Europe.

"A new media outlet affiliated with ISIL recently began producing recruiting materials in both English and German that U.S. intelligence analysts say is a sign they are targeting western jihadists for recruitment.

"It is the first time ISIL, one of the most prominent ultra-violent jihadists among Syria rebels groups, has set up a western-oriented media arm..."

"'With as many as 70 Americans fighting with Syrian jihadist groups, and thousands of westerners, counterterrorism authorities have been rightfully worried,' he added. 'Now that we have known cases of Americans fighting with ISIL, that is considered even too extreme for al Qaeda, and ongoing recruitment inside the U.S., we’re only going to see the potential domestic terror blowback from the Syrian jihad grow even more.'”

The "cakewalk" comes home?

Who knows, McCain ain't saying who is safe and who he has armed over his tenure at the head of the Senate committees...

Brave, patriotic American Taliban Teabaggers should be lining up to help the jihad overthrow the oppressive Marxist dictatorship of Sultan Barry Hussein Ubama bin Laden.

Come on, Teabaggers! Join the jihad and kill some cops! It's what you've been training for.

That's a good strategy, because, as we're told repeatedly by the RWnuts around here, we're not allowed to kill Americans fighting for the enemy.

Is this the same group the US provided arms to? McCain went and talked to?
I don't think so, but McStain would fit right in with the ISIL end game:

"Blood-thirsty jihadists are carrying out summary executions on civilians, Iraqi soldiers and police officers - including 17 in one street alone - on their warpath to Baghdad, the UN said today.

"As a shocking picture of the ISIS insurgency continues to emerge, barbaric videos are being posted online that aim to show the world they will stop at nothing to achieve their end game.

"In one, which is too graphic to publish, fighters are seen knocking on the door of a Sunni police major in the dead of night.

"When he answers, they blindfold and cuff him. Then they carve off his head with a knife in his own bedroom as sweetly lilting religious hymns are played over the top.

"That fear is one factor behind the stunning collapse of Iraqi security forces. In most cases, police and soldiers simply ran, sometimes shedding their uniforms, and abandoned arsenals of heavy weapons.

"In another video, purportedly taken by ISIS militants, emerged today showing gunmen carrying out indiscriminate drive-by shootings."

Or we could all get organized and FLUSH every single incumbent who voted for the invasion of Iraq from congress next November?

No problem:eek:

"Armed with a machine-gun, the gang film themselves shooting cars off the road then move in to video close-ups of the victims' blood-stained bodies slumped in the seats. In another clip, they gun down a pedestrian.

"The footage, which cannot be independently verified, contains the same logo used in a video posted earlier this week showing an Iraqi businessman being shot in the back of the head.

I'm sure bergdahl would be up for it.
Do you think we would be having this conversation absent the US invasion of Iraq in 2003?

Yes. 1. Our foreign policy debacles in the ME didnt start in 2003. 2. Religious ideologies. 3. Vietnam. Although our adventures in southeast asia were entirely different, vietnam and iraq and korea were all wars of choice.

Okay, minus the Iraqi Invasion of whenever:

The sanctions are lifted, the no fly zone is suspended, Iraqi Oil flows to France, Spain, Italy, England, China, and anywhere else that has the money to buy it. Billions flow unchecked into Saddam's coffers. Saddam continues financing terrorist attacks against Israel. Saddam gets WMD's and rebuild's his conventional military. The Democrats rallying cry is "Saddam got nukes while Bush fiddled". Barack Hussein becomes President of the United States. Saddam nukes Israel. Barack Hussein Obama says, "All options are on the table".

How did Israel use its nukes?

No doubt any recruits will be the leftwing, anti-American nutters like those on this board. It will be interesting to see how their pro-gay, same-sex marriage agenda will be received by their beloved Jihadists.

"In Clark's book, Winning Modern Wars, published in 2003, he describes his conversation with a military officer in the Pentagon shortly after 9/11 regarding a plan to attack seven Middle Eastern countries in five years: 'As I went back through the Pentagon in November 2001, one of the senior military staff officers had time for a chat. Yes, we were still on track for going against Iraq, he said. But there was more. This was being discussed as part of a five-year campaign plan, he said, and there were a total of seven countries, beginning with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and finishing off Iran.'"

That conversation Clark had in the Pentagon took place around Thanksgiving of 2001.

How do you think US voters would have responded almost 13 years ago if they had known what was in store for their country and Iraq?

The same way we fought the other wars of choice. Vietnam, Korea, Iraq. This isn't some "gotcha" moment. This is history repeating itself.
