The candidates who have the right message aren’t on the debate stage,” said Green of his former congressman Tim Ryan and Sherrod Brown, the US senator from Ohio who dropped out of the contest before the debates even started. “We need candidates to actually step up and do more than lip service, do something to help change some of the laws that are anti-worker,” he continued. “Because, quite frankly, we’ve been getting our asses handed to us for 20 years or more. And, if something doesn’t change …”

His voice trails off in frustration.

As social media, a socialist-leaning base and each successive debate molds the Democrats’ 2020 platform, climate change has emerged as the single most important issue, followed by Medicare for All, more government spending, free college, gun confiscation, reparations for the descendants of slaves, and banning fossil fuels and the jobs they create.

Any emphasis on pro-worker ideals, such as the extension of paid sick days, never seems to come up. “Joe Biden is probably the most pro-union person out of the group running for president. Still, he doesn’t talk about it much when he is on the stage,” said Gary Steinbeck, a retired steelworker from Ohio.

The left wing/democrats don't care about the working man, minorities or any other "group." They use them to get power, then exploit them the way they exploit any women they get control over...... anyone who still thinks left wingers/democrats are here to help people are either young and inexperienced, or really, really stupid...

Moving jobs outside the country and not fighting to keep them as trump’s doing with tariffs

The Democratic Party abandoned blue-collar workers long ago, they pretended and promised otherwise but did nothing for them and that's why Dem support in the rust belt for the dems is drying up.

Has anyone seen current numbers for people leaving the Democratic Party? I'm sure they're gaining young, 1st-time voters that want socialism but don't know shit about what that means. But they're also losing the blue-collar people.

As far as I am concerned both parties have abandoned the common Joe....along with the industries in the USA..

Democrat support for open borders and sanctuary cities, forcing Americans to compete with under the table labor working for slave wages has kept wage growth down. This is done on purpose to hold American living standards down.

In this day and age, being an American and voting for Democrats is like being a jew and voting for nazis.

What does that have to do with either party?

The world finally caught up to the USA after WWII, live in a global economy, dog eats dog.

Yep, wouldn't exactly call that "fear", more like "fact".

Except for the fact that wages of the masses, politics and rich humans are all intertwined.
