Breaking news...

Jeesh...get a grip people.

I feel sorry for them, but not as sorry as I'd feel for people that didn't take a risky job by choice and got blown up.

This thread is like Lord of the Flies.

How would you feel about coal miners who got trapped in a collapse and suffocated?

They took a risky job didn't they?
Probably the same...sorry for them but not as sorry as I'd feel for people that didn't take a risky job by choice and get blown up.

At least you're consistent...

Sad, but consistent...

Well just pick one actually.

You didn't answer my question...

As one who has several civilian pals deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq from time to time, it is great to know that the concern for their well-being is independent of partisan lines. It's nice that an asshole (I guess there is one in every crowd) is recognized as one regardless of political leanings.

ETA: Well, for the most part. Partisan pasta cannot be anything but partisan and occasionally overcooked.

It was the avitar that did it.

That subconcious can be a bear.

Have fun and loosen up.

Fuck you, asshole. No one is the slightest bid impressed by your pathetic bravado. Some of us take the deaths of those who are supporting our military kind of seriously. I'm not surprised that someone as pathetic as you doesn't understand it.

Actually I don't think we should even have contractors in combat zones. It would seem that I support them more than you do.

That's because you're a fucking idiot. You have no idea of the role they provide and why they do it. You just decide that they were there purely for the money. That makes you a fucking asshole. Those contractors provide a hugely important role supporting the military. It is not a job they take just for the cash. Many of them are highly trained specialists, and the job of our military is made easier because of them. Yet you feel no sympathy for them and decide that anyone who expresses any other opinion is 'faux' outraged by their deaths. You are judged by your words and your words show us what a scumbag asshole you are. Live with it.

You don't find violent death that happens to people through no fault of their own sadder? I do.

Most people dont go through the effort of pointing it out because its tasteless to do so. Your arguement is pure shit.

Nice of you to sit in judgement of the jobs of other people. Do you know what role these guys provided to our military? No. Do you know how vital they were? No. You just decide that they are, in some way, responsible for their own deaths. Do you feel the same way when a member of our military dies?

I find all loss of life via violent means equally sad...

The people who died today were not at fault for their deaths, though...

Ohh I would feel a bit more sympathy as they did not volunteer to work in a combat zone.

But realistically, they are adults and make their choices.
The children is who I feel sorry for.

Did you morn the deaths of those thousands of Chinese coal miners killed each year?

Are these the same people who thought nothing of the pictures of melted babies in Falughia?

No more than a person that catches alligators.
Or mountain climbers.

They made a decision that did not work out. It happens.

I bet he didnt minimize their deaths when it happened. You might try and learn that lesson yourself.

No, the ones that killed them are at fault. Still, that is an eventuality you must expect when you work in a war zone.

Did he even care?
Did he start a similar thread on here about it?
Express the same sympathy?

This selective outrage is foreign to me.

I'm reminded of the "Point - Counterpoint" scene in the movie Airplane! where the guy says something like "They knew the risks they were getting into when they got on that plane!"...

Sadly, that movie was a comedy....

So that justifies you not having to have any compassion for them?!
