Campgrounds, boat ramps, other amenities closing just as summer arrives.

So what private slimeball scum gets to buy the boat ramp?
Really? Are you that much of a dullard?

I suspect states would love to be shed of them. Likely it would be a lease agreement sort of the way they least concession space.

This shop leases space from the DWR at a smallish local lake.

How much to buy a boat ramp? I think I need one.

I own my own, it came with my river property. I even have a "beach"!

Happiness is your own hunting, fishing, range, beach, and boat ramp property and not have to kiss anyone's ass. ;)

In fact it's the only place besides the landing upriver you can launch a boat for 15 miles that I know of.

The Virginia DWR have been wanting to buy it for years so I suspect I could sell it to someone who would turn it into a pay to play affair.

Cool. I'm actually fishing right now. Technology is incredible.

I'm a happy camper.

And yes, I like to go to the lake when the weather is good.

Cheney lake, to be precise. Got a little cabin cruiser out there that I can't use right now because the water level is too low due to the global warming related drought, but I still go out and camp sometimes, and the water level will come up or I'll move it somewhere else soon.
You’re so full of shit! 🤣

I see nothing wrong with privatizing boat ramps and such.

Upkeep costs should funded by "pay to play" with the upkeep borne by private owners/users, not the taxpayer.

If you want to launch your bass boat, why should I have to pay for the ramp or it's upkeep?

There's a public boat ramp about 500 yards upriver from my river property and in warm weather it's nothing but a magnet for illegals and other unsavory characters not from my county.
Exxxxactly
