I was wondering if you are a business and wanted to use a road that was blocked by Trump protesters could you actually sue the Trump protestors for damages?

Since blocking the road was deliberate, I don't see why not.

For being delayed a couple of hours at best? Probably not, but who knows, if you support Trump you probably support fake lawsuits too.

Well, with the Democratic Socialist Party is all in for breaking the laws of the land and getting away with it under Obama, who knows.

If the protesters had a permit to march down the street and blocked your business I don't think that is sueable. Back in the nineties it was not cost effective to sue a business for less than ten grand because the lawyers eat up the money even if you win. With inflation that would be twenty grand today, speaking from experience.

Yeah, people "can" sue for just about anything. The question is, would they win?

Non-violent protesting is legal in the US. It's one of our precious rights. Get over it. If you wanted to protest, you'd be singing a completely different tune.

I think University of Arizona was rated the number one party school in a recent college student poll. I bet a lot of the protesters were UA students.

^^^That has nothing to do with anything. And, it is pure, unadulterated speculation.

Using cars to purposely block traffic the way they did was illegal. One way that they may have caused damages for which they can be sued would be blocking or delaying an emergency vehicle from reaching its destination.

They can be sued. The problem is that the business in question would not only need to spend the time and money to gather evidence that would make the suit viable but they would also need to pay the fees associated with getting a lawyer and filing the suit. All this to reach into the pockets of protesters. How deep do you really think that well is?

In the end, it is far more likely suing the protesters would realize a net LOSS rather than a gain. Dumb from a business prospective.

I think the OP was about civil court and not criminal court.

It probably wouldn't be worth it to try to sue protesters. First of all you would have to identify them. Are you going to hire a private investigator to do that?

The police have better things to do than hand out a few thousand jaywalking tickets to illegal immigrants.

So do I. People can be sued in civil court when they "damage" others by breaking the law.

I agree it probably will not happen. It does no good to "win" millions in a lawsuit if the defendants don't have deep pockets.

Sheesh, these loony left, foul mouthed militants are a frothing horde. .. (what about the children?)

There must be a law against frothing hordes...:dunno:
