Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, shown with Pope Francis, has resigned from the College of Cardinals over sexual abuse allegations. An investigation found evidence he had abused a teenager 47 years ago.

US cardinal resigns over abuse claims

In a statement, the Vatican said Pope Francis had accepted Mr McCarrick's resignation from the cardinalate and had ordered his suspension from the exercise of any public ministry.

The statement also said he would be placed in seclusion "for a life of prayer and penance until the accusations made against him are examined in a regular canonical trial".

Constantine was a Roman General who began the militarization of Christianity, which resulted in most of the evils that liberals claim Christianity was based off of. Where once the Gospel was spread with words and living examples, Constantine began the belief that the word of God should be spread at the point of a sword.
The Church established by Jesus has little or nothing to do with Romans and Catholicism. Where does it say in the New Testament kill your enemies, cut off their heads, and parade their bodies through the streets in a celebration?
