There are still people who think the cops don't track cell phones? I see local news articles everyday where "the cops located the suspect by tracking his cell phone".
Cops are too authorized to interrupt our life.
It is a country for police and controlled by police.

Wearing body cams is an invasion of their privacy, but eavesdropping on your cell phone is all good.
American cops are real representatives of our authorities. Double standarts are so familiar to both of them.
They act exactly the same way.

Who said it was an invasion of their privacy? Quote whoever you are referring to.

OK, So a guy murders your mother. They suspect a particular person is guilty of the crime. Are you saying they shouldnt see if he was at the spot where your mothers body was dumped? You are against this kind of police work? Why?

You forget the tens of millions killed by German "authorities".

Mostly Jews and Slavs, so, I guess they don't count, right?
So, do we compare the Nazi regime of Hitler's Germany with modern democratic America?
You are welcome.
See, this is the problem with having a secret program that stores the data of citizens - there's no oversight and no accountability. Even if they are somehow using this data for "public safety", we have no idea if it's an effective use of taxpayer money and resources.

Ignorant, hyperbolic nonsense.

There is no expectation of privacy when personal information is willingly provided to a private third party, such as a wireless company.

From the cited article:

“Surveillance like this has a chilling effect on free speech and dissent...”

The 'chilling effect' argument is not valid, that some 'think' that the government 'might' violate citizens' civil rights is not a legitimate reason to compel government to discontinue otherwise appropriate law enforcement activities.

Also from the cited article:

“Theoretically, there could be legitimate uses for this equipment, but there are serious constitutional concerns if warrants aren’t being obtained...”

Indeed – and if information is being gathered pursuant to criminal prosecution absent a warrant, that evidence has been illegally obtained; and law enforcement must be up-front with regard to their use of such equipment, providing citizens with full disclosure as to how the equipment is being used.

Otherwise, this 'police state' nonsense is ridiculous and unfounded.
