What are manufacturers going to do? Close their PRC production facilities, return production to their home countries and then export the cars to the PRC? I don't think so. That doesn't make business sense to do.

Nevermind that U.S. firms are already building and selling cars in the PRC. Quite simply, there is no way in hell the U.S. is anywhere near -- neither now nor a decade from now -- having the number of potential customers that China does.

Trump's hand is full of holes, keep in mind, his brand is made in China.....

We have the largest trade deficit btw 2 countries in the history of the world by a large margin! As Trump would say HUGE!

I am pretty sure you have never worked for a living, but your largest customer is not one you mess with. It can sink or swim your company. When I did sales I took all kinds of shit from
my largest customers because I couldn’t afford to lose them. This is the same for economies!

Free trade would be great if it went both ways, but it doesn’t btw us and China. A small trade deficit is manageable, but a large one is bad politics.


Also China only became the economic juggernaut it is today when it opened up it’s markets to private sector.
